Description

Delightful scones with rich cheddar, crispy turkey bacon, and fresh chives, perfect for brunch or a cozy snack.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked turkey bacon, chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped chives
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt until evenly combined.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, chopped turkey bacon, and chives.
  5. Pour in the milk and stir until just combined.
  6. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently a couple of times.
  7. Roll out the dough to about 1-inch thick and cut out scones using a round cutter.
  8. Place the scones on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush the tops with beaten egg.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Serve warm with a pat of butter or enjoy them as they are.

Notes

These scones can be prepared ahead of time and frozen before baking for convenience.
