- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup cooked turkey bacon, chopped
- 1/4 cup chopped chives
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt until evenly combined.
- Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, chopped turkey bacon, and chives.
- Pour in the milk and stir until just combined.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently a couple of times.
- Roll out the dough to about 1-inch thick and cut out scones using a round cutter.
- Place the scones on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush the tops with beaten egg.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve warm with a pat of butter or enjoy them as they are.
Notes
