Description

A comforting slow cooker recipe for BBQ pulled pork, perfect for easy weeknight dinners or gatherings, served with coleslaw on buns.


Ingredients

  • 34 pounds beef roast (shoulder or chuck)
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite kind)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Buns, for serving
  • Optional: coleslaw (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the meat by trimming any excess fat from your beef roast.
  2. Season generously with a spice blend of garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Set up your slow cooker by placing the seasoned beef in and adding beef broth, apple cider vinegar, and BBQ sauce.
  4. Let it cook, covering on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-6 hours.
  5. Shred the beef directly in the slow cooker using two forks and mix well with the remaining sauce.
  6. Serve the BBQ pulled pork on soft buns topped with coleslaw.

Notes

This recipe can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge, reheating easily when you’re ready to enjoy.
