Description

A cozy, crowd-pleasing smash burger recipe perfect for busy weeknight dinners or weekend barbecues.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz (340g) ground beef (80/20)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 12 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • Brioche buns
  • 2 slices cheddar cheese
  • Pickles
  • Lettuce
  • Onion, thinly sliced
  • Tomato slices

Instructions

  1. Divide the ground meat into 3 oz (85g) portions, roll into balls and flatten between parchment paper.
  2. Make the sauce by combining mayonnaise, sour cream, ketchup, mustard, and black pepper; mix well and refrigerate.
  3. Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Season the meat and cook until golden, flipping after 1-2 minutes and adding cheddar cheese to melt.
  5. Toast the brioche buns on the grill for about 30 seconds.
  6. Assemble the burgers with sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion, patties, pickles, and additional sauce on the top bun.

Notes

You can prepare the burger patties in advance and refrigerate them. Leftover patties can be stored for up to 3 days.
