A comforting slow-cooked sandwich filled with tender, shredded beef, caramelized onions, and optional Provolone cheese.

- 2 lbs beef chuck roast
- 1 onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 6 hoagie rolls
- Provolone cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Place the roast in the crock pot and season generously with salt and pepper.
- Add the sliced onion and minced garlic to the pot.
- Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
- Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 480 minutes (8 hours).
- Once it’s done, remove the meat, shred it gently, and return it to the pot.
- Serve the shredded beef on hoagie rolls, topped with Provolone cheese if desired.
Notes
Make ahead and store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days. Shred beef while warm for easier handling.
