- 4 overripe bananas
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 2 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and grease your loaf pan.
- Mash the overripe bananas until smooth and set aside.
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar for about 2 to 3 minutes until fluffy.
- Add the eggs, mashed banana, and vanilla extract, beating well until combined.
- Sift in the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt, gently folding until just combined.
- Fold in three-fourths of the chocolate chips, reserving the rest for topping.
- Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for about 50 to 60 minutes until set in the center.
- Allow to cool in the pan for at least 20 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor and texture. Wrap leftovers and store in an airtight container.
