Description
Delicious homemade mozzarella sticks, crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside, perfect for a snack or appetizer.

- String cheese or mozzarella cheese (full sticks)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko recommended)
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
Instructions
- Cut the cheese into sticks, each about 3-4 inches long.
- Set up a breading station with one bowl for flour, one for beaten eggs, and another for breadcrumbs mixed with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Dip each cheese stick into the flour, then the egg, and finally into the breadcrumb mixture.
- Place breaded cheese sticks on a baking sheet and freeze for about 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Carefully fry the mozzarella sticks in hot oil until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Drain the fried sticks on a paper towel-lined plate.
- Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
Pre-bread the cheese sticks and freeze them for up to a few days. Fry them when ready to serve!
