Crispy, flavorful Bang Bang Tofu that’s quick and easy to make, perfect for a weeknight dinner or as a crowd-pleasing appetizer.

- 14 oz firm tofu
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise (or a dairy-free version)
- 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon sriracha (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Press the tofu to remove excess moisture and cut it into bite-sized cubes.
- Mix cornstarch with salt and pepper in a bowl. Toss the tofu cubes in this mixture until well coated.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Drizzle vegetable oil over the coated tofu and toss gently to ensure even coating.
- Place the tofu in the air fryer basket and cook for 15-20 minutes, shaking halfway through to ensure even crispiness.
- Mix mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and sriracha in a separate bowl if desired for added heat.
- Toss the crispy tofu in the sauce mixture until each piece is beautifully coated.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions for that extra pop of color and flavor.
Notes
Make-ahead advice: Press the tofu and coat in cornstarch earlier in the day and refrigerate until ready to air fry. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
