Description

A cozy, comforting casserole packed with ground beef, cheese, and crispy french fries, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cups frozen French fries
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Ketchup and mustard for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef and diced onion over medium heat until the beef is browned; drain excess grease.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture with cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well blended.
  4. Spread half of the French fries in the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  5. Pour the beef mixture over the French fries and top with the remaining French fries.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until the fries are crispy and the cheese is melted.
  8. Serve hot with ketchup and mustard as desired.

Notes

Make ahead by preparing the beef mixture a day in advance. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
