- 4–5 medium-sized potatoes
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 cup cream
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Peel and slice the potatoes thinly, aiming for about 1/8 inch thick.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat, then sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until translucent and fragrant.
- Add the cream, salt, and pepper to the saucepan, stirring until well combined.
- In a baking dish, layer the sliced potatoes, adding the creamy cheese mixture in between each layer.
- Top with the remaining grated cheddar cheese for that golden, bubbly finish.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
