Description

A cozy comfort food delight featuring layers of rich cream and melted cheddar, perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 45 medium-sized potatoes
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 cup cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel and slice the potatoes thinly, aiming for about 1/8 inch thick.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat, then sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until translucent and fragrant.
  4. Add the cream, salt, and pepper to the saucepan, stirring until well combined.
  5. In a baking dish, layer the sliced potatoes, adding the creamy cheese mixture in between each layer.
  6. Top with the remaining grated cheddar cheese for that golden, bubbly finish.
  7. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
