- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 can cherry pie filling
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into squares or rectangles.
- Mix the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth in a bowl.
- Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square.
- Top the cream cheese with a spoonful of cherry pie filling.
- Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling to create a pocket and seal well.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving. Enjoy!
Notes
You can prepare the cherry Danish ahead of time and freeze them unbaked. Add a rich chocolate drizzle or swap the cherry filling for other flavored fillings.
