Description

A delightful Cherry Danish made with creamy filling and cherry topping, perfect for brunch or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet of store-bought puff pastry
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into squares or rectangles.
  3. Mix the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth in a bowl.
  4. Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square.
  5. Top the cream cheese with a spoonful of cherry pie filling.
  6. Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling to create a pocket and seal well.
  7. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

You can prepare the cherry Danish ahead of time and freeze them unbaked. Add a rich chocolate drizzle or swap the cherry filling for other flavored fillings.
