Description

A cozy and comforting Cinnamon Swirl Banana Bread filled with tender bananas and a delightful cinnamon sugar swirl.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (for the swirl)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  3. Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
  4. Mix in the baking soda and a pinch of salt.
  5. Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
  6. Mix in the flour until just incorporated – don’t overmix!
  7. Combine the ground cinnamon and 2 tablespoons of sugar for the swirl in a small bowl.
  8. Pour half of the batter into a greased loaf pan and sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture on top.
  9. Add the rest of the banana batter, and then top with the remaining cinnamon sugar.
  10. Swirl the mixture with a knife for that gorgeous marbled effect.
  11. Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  12. Let cool before removing from the pan.

Notes

This banana bread freezes beautifully! Wrap slices tightly in plastic and store in a freezer bag for up to 3 months.
