Description

A deliciously simple side dish featuring tender green beans and crispy turkey bacon, infused with garlic and soy sauce for a burst of flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh green beans
  • 4 slices turkey bacon, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the turkey bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside, leaving the grease in the skillet.
  2. Add the butter to the skillet and let it melt until bubbly and slightly golden.
  3. Sauté the minced garlic for about 1 minute, until fragrant and tender.
  4. Stir in the soy sauce, brown sugar, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  5. Add the fresh green beans to the skillet and toss to coat evenly in the sauce.
  6. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the green beans are tender but still crisp.
  7. Toss the crispy turkey bacon back in the skillet and garnish with green onions before serving.

Notes

Make-ahead options and storage tips included. You can substitute turkey bacon with lean pancetta or omit for a vegetarian version.
