Description

Delicious and nutritious homemade granola bars perfect for an afternoon snack or energy booster.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup crispy rice cereal
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter or almond butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Combine the rolled oats, crispy rice cereal, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Heat honey and peanut butter in a small saucepan over low heat until melted and combined, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the melted mixture over the dry ingredients and stir until combined.
  5. Fold in mini chocolate chips.
  6. Press the mixture into the prepared baking dish evenly and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.
