A warm and comforting baked spaghetti dish featuring layers of tender pasta, rich meat sauce, and creamy ricotta.

- 8 oz spaghetti
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for sautéing
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente, then drain.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the onion and garlic until translucent.
- Add the ground beef and cook until browned.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for 15 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix the ricotta cheese with the egg, salt, and pepper.
- In a baking dish, layer half of the spaghetti, the meat sauce, and then the ricotta mixture. Top with the remaining spaghetti.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
