Description

A warm and comforting baked spaghetti dish featuring layers of tender pasta, rich meat sauce, and creamy ricotta.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for sautéing

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente, then drain.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the onion and garlic until translucent.
  4. Add the ground beef and cook until browned.
  5. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for 15 minutes.
  6. In a bowl, mix the ricotta cheese with the egg, salt, and pepper.
  7. In a baking dish, layer half of the spaghetti, the meat sauce, and then the ricotta mixture. Top with the remaining spaghetti.
  8. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
