- 1 package cheese-filled tortellini
- 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 jar marinara sauce
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef or Italian sausage, cooking until browned and delicious. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the marinara sauce and Italian seasoning, bringing the mixture to a gentle simmer. Let those flavors meld together for a few moments.
- In a large baking dish, layer half of the cooked tortellini, followed by half of the meat sauce, and half of the ricotta and mozzarella cheeses. Repeat these layers.
- Crown your creation with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
