Ingredients

  • 1 package cheese-filled tortellini
  • 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 jar marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef or Italian sausage, cooking until browned and delicious. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in the marinara sauce and Italian seasoning, bringing the mixture to a gentle simmer. Let those flavors meld together for a few moments.
  4. In a large baking dish, layer half of the cooked tortellini, followed by half of the meat sauce, and half of the ricotta and mozzarella cheeses. Repeat these layers.
  5. Crown your creation with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
  6. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
