- 8 oz spaghetti
- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Parmesan cheese, for serving
- Fresh basil, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, cook the Italian sausage over medium heat until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the diced onion and cook until translucent. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
- Add the cooked sausage back into the skillet and let it simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing those beautiful flavors to meld.
- Toss the cooked spaghetti with the sauce until well coated.
- Serve hot, topped with Parmesan cheese and fresh basil if desired.
