Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/4 cup bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
Instructions
- Combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, chopped onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix well and form into patties.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties until browned on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the sliced mushrooms to the same skillet and cook until softened.
- Stir in the beef broth and bring to a simmer to develop flavor.
- Mix the cornstarch and water in a small bowl; stir into the gravy until thickened.
- Return the beef patties to the skillet, coating them with the mushroom gravy.
- Serve hot over mashed potatoes or egg noodles.
Notes
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stove for best results.
