Description

A comforting dish featuring savory beef patties smothered in creamy mushroom gravy, perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water

Instructions

  1. Combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, chopped onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix well and form into patties.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties until browned on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Add the sliced mushrooms to the same skillet and cook until softened.
  4. Stir in the beef broth and bring to a simmer to develop flavor.
  5. Mix the cornstarch and water in a small bowl; stir into the gravy until thickened.
  6. Return the beef patties to the skillet, coating them with the mushroom gravy.
  7. Serve hot over mashed potatoes or egg noodles.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stove for best results.
