A delightful twist on classic Sloppy Joes, blending hearty beef with rich marinara and gooey mozzarella, all piled on crispy Italian bread.
Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 pieces of Italian bread or garlic bread
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until the beef is browned and the onion is soft, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in the marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- On a baking sheet, place the Italian bread slices and top each slice with the Sloppy Joe mixture.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top of each Sloppy Joe.
- Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve hot.
Notes
Prepare the Sloppy Joe mixture ahead of time (up to 2 days in advance) for a quick meal. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
