- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 medium potatoes, sliced
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until softened and fragrant.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper, cooking until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Layer the sliced potatoes evenly at the bottom of a greased baking dish, followed by the savory beef mixture.
- Spread sour cream over the top, then sprinkle generously with shredded cheese.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and continue baking for another 15 minutes until the potatoes are tender and cheese is golden.
- Cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For an added kick, feel free to include chili peppers or fresh herbs. This dish can be made a day in advance and stored in the fridge.
