- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until bubbly.
- Combine flour and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour.
- Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until soft and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Roll out the dough to your desired thickness, add your favorite toppings, and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden and crisp.
Notes
You can prepare this dough in advance and freeze it for up to 3 months. For a fun variation, try adding herbs or creating a stuffed crust.
