Description

Experience the joy of making homemade sourdough bread with this easy recipe. Create a golden-brown loaf that’s tender and flavorful, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g bread flour
  • 350ml water
  • 100g sourdough starter
  • 10g salt

Instructions

  1. Combine the bread flour and water in a large bowl. Mix until no dry flour remains.
  2. Let the dough rest for 30 minutes to absorb the water.
  3. Add the sourdough starter and salt. Mix well to incorporate everything.
  4. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a tea towel, and let it rise for 4-5 hours.
  6. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and place your Dutch oven inside to heat up.
  7. Shape the risen dough into a round loaf and let it rest for another 30 minutes.
  8. Transfer the dough to the hot Dutch oven, cover with the lid, and bake for 30 minutes.
  9. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Cool the loaf on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

For best results, use a serrated knife to slice the bread and store in a paper bag at room temperature.
