Description

A nostalgic and creamy homemade vanilla ice cream that brings back sweet summer memories with every scoop.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: 1 cup mix-ins (e.g., chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or fresh fruit)

Instructions

  1. Combine the heavy cream and whole milk in a large mixing bowl until well blended.
  2. Sweeten the mixture by gradually adding the granulated sugar, stirring until dissolved.
  3. Pour in the vanilla extract and sprinkle in the salt. Stir until combined.
  4. Cover with plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for at least 1-2 hours.
  5. Pour the chilled mixture into your ice cream maker and churn until soft-serve consistency, about 20-25 minutes.
  6. Transfer to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm enough to scoop.
  7. Scoop into bowls or cones and enjoy with your favorite toppings or mix-ins!

Notes

This ice cream can be made up to a week in advance. Store tightly covered to prevent ice crystals.
