- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup peanut butter (for swirls)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and peanut butter until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl, then gradually add this dry mix to the creamed mixture.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Spread half of the dough into the prepared pan.
- Drop spoonfuls of additional peanut butter over the dough and add the remaining dough on top, swirling with a knife.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool before cutting into bars.
Notes
These bars can be made ahead and stored for up to a week. Feel free to customize with different nuts or toppings.
