Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together the softened butter and 1 1/2 cups sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is well incorporated.
- Stir in the vanilla.
- Combine the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
- Gradually blend this dry mixture into the creamed mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Mix 1/4 cup sugar with 1 tablespoon cinnamon in a small bowl to create the cinnamon sugar.
- Roll the dough into small balls and gently roll each ball in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Place the coated dough balls on ungreased cookie sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the cookies are lightly golden.
- Allow cookies to cool on wire racks before indulging!
