- 4 cups of fresh peaches, peeled and sliced (about 6 medium peaches)
- 1 cup of granulated sugar (divided)
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon of baking powder
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- 1 cup of milk
- ½ cup of unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine the sliced peaches, ½ cup of sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon in a large bowl.
- Let the peach mixture sit for about 10 minutes.
- Whisk together flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
- Add milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Spoon the spiced peach mixture over the batter, without stirring.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top for a delightful treat! You can slice the peaches a day in advance; just store them covered in the fridge.
