Description

A cozy and easy Southern peach cobbler recipe, perfect for summer gatherings and lazy afternoons.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups of fresh peaches, peeled and sliced (about 6 medium peaches)
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar (divided)
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup of milk
  • ½ cup of unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine the sliced peaches, ½ cup of sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon in a large bowl.
  3. Let the peach mixture sit for about 10 minutes.
  4. Whisk together flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Add milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  7. Spoon the spiced peach mixture over the batter, without stirring.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top for a delightful treat! You can slice the peaches a day in advance; just store them covered in the fridge.
