A creamy, refreshing drink combining strawberries, lemon, and vanilla, perfect for summer gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 4 cups cold water
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
- 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
- 1–3 tablespoons honey or agave syrup (adjust to your sweetness preference)
- Ice for serving
- Lemon slices and fresh mint for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prep the strawberries: Start by hulling and slicing the fresh strawberries, letting their sweetness be the star of our drink.
- Blend your base: In a blender, combine the sliced strawberries, cold water, fresh lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth and creamy.
- Sweeten to taste: Taste the mixture and add honey or agave syrup as desired, blending in between.
- Strain (optional): If you prefer an ultra-smooth texture, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve.
- Chill and serve: Transfer the agua fresca into a pitcher and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Serve it over ice.
- Enjoy: Sip and relish the refreshing flavors that embody the spirit of summer.
Notes
For a creamier texture, blend in a splash of coconut milk. This can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
