Description
A gooey, indulgent Strawberry Earthquake Cake combines chocolate, strawberries, and a creamy surprise that’s sure to please any crowd.

- 1 box of chocolate cake mix
- 1 cup of water
- 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup of strawberries, chopped
- 1 package of cream cheese (8 oz), softened
- 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
- 1 cup of coconut flakes
- 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts (optional)
- 1/2 cup of chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, mix the cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs until well combined.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly across the bottom.
- In another bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Spoon the cream cheese mixture over the batter in the pan, gently spreading it without disturbing the base too much.
- Sprinkle the chopped strawberries, coconut flakes, walnuts (if using), and chocolate chips on top.
- Pour the remaining batter over the top, trying to cover the toppings.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before serving.
Notes
For clean slices, use a knife dipped in warm water to cut the cake. This prevents sticking and keeps each slice neat.
