Description

Delightfully chewy bars topped with a rich layer of chocolate and butterscotch, perfect for any gathering.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 6 cups rice cereal
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips

Instructions

  1. Combine the sugar and corn syrup in a saucepan over medium heat, stir continuously until it comes to a gentle boil.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in the peanut butter until smooth.
  3. Mix the rice cereal with the peanut butter mixture in a large bowl, stirring gently.
  4. Press the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch pan.
  5. Melt the chocolate and butterscotch chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  6. Pour the melted mixture over the cereal layer and spread evenly.
  7. Cool completely before slicing into squares.

Notes

These bars can be made ahead of time and stored in an airtight container for up to a week. To slice cleanly, warm a sharp knife slightly in hot water.
